Adding members to a group

A group in Muzodo is a music group such as a band, orchestra or choir.

You must be an administrator to add members to a group.

There are three methods to add members:

  • One at a time.
  • Emailing your members a link.
  • Batch add using an Excel spreadsheet.

Adding members one at a time

Open the Members tab, select your group and click on the Add Member button.

Emailing your members a link

On the Members tab, click the Excel import/Invite by email link button.

Select Email your members a link.

Open your email program, create a new email and add all your permanent members in the To box. Hint: Alternatively find the last email that was sent to all your members and hit reply.

Copy and paste the link for permanent members into the email and add a note letting them know your group plans to use Muzodo.

If needed, repeat the last 2 steps for your extras/subs, using the extras link.

When responding, your members will be asked to fill in their name, section, email address and password.

Adding members in a spreadsheet

On the Members tab, click the Excel import/Invite by email link.

Select Import a spreadsheet and click Next.

Per the on-screen instructions, download the Excel template and fill it in.
Then copy and paste the filled-in Excel template into the text area (Don't worry about the formatting at this stage).

Click Next
Review all the details. Check that everyone is there - if you omitted details for someone, they may have been excluded.

Before importing, review the import options:
  • If you have existing events in the system, you can click on the dropdown box next to Invite to and select which events these members should be invited to once they've been added to the system.
  • The Preset user responses to 'Yes' option will set their responses you 'Yes' immediately for those events. You can usually leave this as 0. This is useful if you're moving from another system and know that these members are already a 'yes' for these events. Note that you have this option when creating new events too - most often used for rehearsals where you can assume that most people can make most rehearsals (you'd need to let them know they must update their response to 'No' if they can't make it). Basically it just saves a them having to respond if you know they can make it.

Click Import.

Everyone will receive a welcome message.

Note: There is a limit of 200 members you can import at one time. If you have more than 200 in your group, you have a big group - and will need to split them over more than one import.
